The standard designation consists of the following parts, all of which are related to the date of discovery of the object:

2012 a 4-digit number indicating the year;
D a letter to show the half-month; ie D = second half of February, see website
A other letter to show the order within the half-month; A ie 1st BUT
14 optional number to indicate the number of times the second letter has been repeated in that half-month period ie 14.
which I think means that there were 325 ( 13 x 25 {ā€˜Iā€™ is not used so only 25 letters used} ) Near Earth Objects identified in the second half of February 2012.
