Monthly Meeting, Friday, September 20th 2013
Friday, 20th September 2013 @ 19:00 - 21:30 BST
Long hot summer days are behind us and maybe clean, dark, cold winter nights are ahead :-)
The first monthly meeting of Liverpool Astronomical Society for session 2013-14, will take place on Friday, September 20th 2013 from 7pm. The venue is the Quaker Meeting House, 22 School Lane, Liverpool City Centre. Doors will only open after 6pm.
Please note that due to refurbishment of the QMH meeting venue main entrance, we are required to use another door way, which is indicated on the attached image, (kindly provided by Chris Banks). This blue doorway is just a short distance from the normal entrance to the building on School Lane, by the large grey gates, but it will also be sign posted on the night.
The main event this month is the Presidential Address to be given by newly elected Mr Rob Johnson on the subject of “Rockets to the Moon & Back“. The Lecture will be followed by a welcome reception, which this year will consist of free tea/coffee with light refreshments, to thank the members for help freely given in the last year, and to look forward to the year ahead, the 132nd year of Society meetings and events. It will also be a great opportunity to welcome new members who have joined over the summer. Syllabus/membership cards for 2013-14 will also be made available.
Please also remember that the yearly subscriptions to the society membership are due on October 1st.
Adult Annual Subscription is £15.00
LAS Newsletter subscription is £5 for 12 issues (optional)
Junior Members Subscription (10 to 17yrs) is £5.00
I do hope you can join me and your fellow members on Friday evening, but if you are unable to attend, please indicate your apologies by contacting me via the form here: http://liverpoolas.org/contact-us/contact-the-las-secretary/
