SUMMARY:Annual General Meeting 2023-2024
DESCRIPTION:Members of the public are welcome to attend (for free)\, but please consider joining our Society if you attend more than two monthly meetings. \n\n\n\nThe Annual General Meeting of Liverpool Astronomical Society for the 2023-2024 session will be held on Friday\, May 17th from 19:00 to 21:00. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe meeting will consist of Society business\, followed by short talks from our own Members. \n\n\n\nThe talks are: \n\n\n\n“Report on the April 2024 Total Eclipse” by Mr. Peter Hannah \n\n\n\n“Paramount Observatory – It’s all about the Photons” by Mr. Les Girvan \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCOVID-19 Information & Safety Procedures\n\n\n\nPlease try to continue with social distancing and use caution when possible. \n\n\n\nAlso\, use the hand sanitiser that will be available. \n\n\n\nThe wearing of masks will be a personal choice and optional for those that wish to continue wearing them. \n\n\n\nWe will continue to ventilate the room. \n\n\n\nFinally\, please do not attend if you have any COVID-like symptoms or have tested positive for COVID that day\, or in the days leading up to the meeting. \n\n\n\n\n\nLivestream & Recording Information\n\n\n\nThis meeting will be held at our normal venue of the Quaker Meeting House\, and may be live-streamed via YouTube\, if I get the equipment set up in time 😊 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA recording may be available. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSubscription Info \n\n\n\nIf you have not yet become a Member of the Society and wish to join\, please see our Membership of the Liverpool Astronomical Society page before sending any payment. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNote: Membership Fees are correct as of October 2025 \n\n\n\nMembership TypePriceAdults (18 & above) Annual Subscription£25.00Juniors (14-17 inclusive) Annual Subscription£5.00\n\n\n\nPlease note:Subscriptions are due from 1st October each year and must be paid by January 31st or your membership may be suspended.If not paid by 31st March your membership will cease. \n\n\n\nPaying your Subscription Electronically (e.g. via e-banking)\n\n\n\nYou can now pay for your subscription via Internet banking.  \n\n\n\nName:Liverpool Astronomical SocietySort Code:60-19-24Account No.:28521250Payment Ref.:Use your full name (or as much of it as possible\, remove spaces if needed) as the reference\, so that our Treasurer can connect your payment to the correct account in the books.\n\n\n\nPlease contact the Treasurer if you require more information. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore information about membership can be found here. \n\n\n\nThe LAS e-newsletter is now included in your normal subscription cost. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFree tea/coffee with light refreshments break will form part of the evening at about 8pm. \n\n\n\nPlease note – Doors will only open after 18:30 and not before. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI do hope you can join me and your fellow members\, but if you are unable to attend\, please indicate your apologies to me by filling out this form. \n\n\n\nWith best wishes – Mark
