SUMMARY:Stargazing at Earth Hour
DESCRIPTION:Event details: \n\n\n\n\nAs people switch off their lights for Earth Hour 2026\, we’re inviting you to Kindling Farm to connect with the beauty of our natural world. We’ll be joined by Liverpool Astronomical Society who will guide us through observing the skies using telescopes and advanced technology (as long as the weather is with us!). The evening will start in our barns with a hot chocolate and a short\, informal talk about our solar system before venturing outside. With any luck\, we hope to spot Jupiter! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou must register to come to this event as facilities and parking are limited; please make sure you register everyone who will be coming along on the night – thank you!

SUMMARY:Solar Astronomy Day at Court Hey\, Wednesday\, 23rd July\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Two images of the solar disc\, side-by-side. The first shows the sun in hydrogen-alpha light\, and the second shows the sun in ordinary visible white light. The hydrogen-alpha image makes it possible to see details like prominences\, flares and other structures present in the solar chromosphere\, while the white-light image shows details in the solar photosphere\, such as sunspots.\n\n\n\nCome along to our Solar Day where we’ll have specially adapted telescopes in which you can safely view the sun.

SUMMARY:Stargazing Evening at Court Hey Park (part of National Astronomy Week 2025)
DESCRIPTION:Come along to our stargazing evening where we’ll have telescopes in which you can view the night sky if clear. There will also be an illustrated talk about the wonders of the solar system at 7.15pm and repeating it at 8pm (lasting about half an hour). All ages are welcome although the talk is aimed at aged 8 upwards. There will also be telescopes to look through\, meteorites\, and some themed Lego. \n\n\n\nEsposito’s cafe will be open late for refreshments. The Friends of Court Hey Park will also be selling some handcrafted items (cash only). \n\n\n\nThere’s no need to book – just come to the courtyard anytime between 7-9pm. We’re anticipating the car park will be busy so please walk or car share if possible. There will be volunteers helping in the car park\, but it’ll be dark so remember to bring a torch. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is free\, and is open to all members of the public and is part of National Astronomy Week 2025.
