DESCRIPTION:Two images of the solar disc\, side-by-side. The first shows the sun in hydrogen-alpha light\, and the second shows the sun in ordinary visible white light. The hydrogen-alpha image makes it possible to see details like prominences\, flares and other structures present in the solar chromosphere\, while the white-light image shows details in the solar photosphere\, such as sunspots.\nCome along to our Solar Day at the Miller & Carter Steakhouse\, Otterspool\, L17 5AL from 13:00 until 17:00  where we’ll have specially adapted telescopes in which you can safely view the sun. DESCRIPTION:We’re celebrating the Our Place in Space art installation currently present in Liverpool with a Solar Day at Liverpool Central Library\, William Brown Street\, Liverpool\, L3 8EW. \n \nYou’ll be able to find us on the roof terrace on the 4th floor from 12:00 til 16:00 where we’ll have specially adapted telescopes in which you can safely view the sun. \n \nFor more information contact:-Mr. David Harper\, our Outreach co-ordinator via our contact page. \n \n\n\nTwo images of the solar disc\, side-by-side. The first shows the sun in hydrogen-alpha light\, and the second shows the sun in ordinary visible white light. The hydrogen-alpha image makes it possible to see details like prominences\, flares and other structures present in the solar chromosphere\, while the white-light image shows details in the solar photosphere\, such as sunspots.
