On Twitter, why don’t you ever post #FF (‘Follow Friday’) tweets?

We don’t want anybody to think that we don’t value our Twitter followers – quite the opposite. So why don’t we tweet Follow Fridays?
The reason is that everything we tweet or retweet (with the exception of reply tweets) goes onto our homepage, and we try to keep it to things that will interest all visitors to our site as well as our followers on Twitter (e.g. an aurora alert, upcoming events, interesting astro news, astro/space photos, all that sort of thing, although we do make the occasional fun tweet too!)

For every Tweet we make, an old one is pushed off the bottom of the stack, and there’s only room for about 5.
If we posted #FF tweets, the Twitter feed which shows on our website would be absolutely full of Twitter usernames and nothing else, because we honestly can’t narrow it down to just a few followers.

If you want to see a list of who we’re Following (and it’s mostly Science, Space, Astronomy or Weather related) the best way to do so is to visit our Following list by clicking here: https://twitter.com/LiverpoolAS/following (you’ll need to be signed in to Twitter first – but if you’re concerned with Follow Friday the chances are you already will be!)

Thanks!
