Informal Talk: Mr. Dave Eagle – Astro-imaging Workshop

This informal and/or short talk will take place on Friday, March 5th from 19:30 to 21:00. These informal talks are for LAS members only. These talks will be much less formal than the main meetings; there won’t be any Society Business section at the start, and they won’t be minuted. The exact format will depend on the individual talk itself. Dave Eagle joins us for a relaxed, hands-on introduction to stacking and processing astro-imagery. Monthly Meeting: Friday, 19th October, 2018

The October 2018 (William Lassell Memorial Lecture) monthly meeting of Liverpool Astronomical Society for the 2018 – 2019 (137th) session will be held on Friday, October 19th from 19:00 to 21:00. Our guest speaker this month is Mr. William Stewart of the Network for Meteor Triangulation and Orbit Determination, whose lecture is entitled: “Shooting While You Sleep: Modern Methods of Detecting & Analysing Meteors” Mr. Stewart will talk about how meteor observations can be aided with the use of computers and electronic detection methods, such as automated imaging of visual meteors and detection of meteors using radio receiver equipment.
