If you can see this message then you are using a browser (probably Internet Explorer) which does not support the international web standards used by the LAS website and many others.
Click here for an example of how the site should look
.

Please consider using an alternative browser - especially if you are on Windows XP which only supports the outdated Internet Explorer 8 browser - such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome which do have support for these web standards. As well as not supporting modern features and web standards, old versions of browsers - especially Internet Explorer - can expose your computer to security risks. The Browse Happy website has a list of the latest versions of all major browsers, including Internet Explorer (but remember Windows XP only supports up to IE8!)

If updating/changing your browser is not possible, do not panic - all of the LAS website is still available to you and we are working to make the layout compatible with outdated browsers.

In the meantime, you will have to scroll down a way to see the page you wish to view. You can also skip past the moon phase info, etc. and click here after you've loaded a page to jump to the content.

Informal Talk: Mr. Dave Eagle – Astro-imaging Workshop

Friday, 5th March 2021 @ 19:30 - 21:00 GMT

This informal and/or short talk will take place on Friday, March 5th from 19:30 to 21:00.

These informal talks are for LAS members only. These talks will be much less formal than the main meetings; there won’t be any Society Business section at the start, and they won’t be minuted.
The exact format will depend on the individual talk itself.

Dave Eagle joins us for a relaxed, hands-on introduction to stacking and processing astro-imagery.

The format for the group will be with Dave as lead, but it will be open and fluid with mics and cameras on if you want. People will be able to screenshare, and if you have any image data you want to try things out on DURING the session, you can upload it to our shared drive. Make a folder with your name, and put your image data in it. You will be able to access other members images too so we have a selection of various images, formats, etc.

Please remember to compress your data as a Zip or Rar files BEFORE you put them on the shared area, as the file sizes will be too big for us to store otherwise. If you have any questions that you’d like Dave to address on Friday, please send them ASAP and I’ll will forward them to him.

Dave can cover various image processing software, including: Affinity Photo, Photoshop, AutoStakkert!, Registax, Astro Pixel Processor and Astrosurface

I know lots of you have taken many images over the past year and are eager to earn how to improve your techniques and share tips, so come along!
Whether you’re working with remote telescopes or from your garden, it’s all the same, join in! I’m looking forward to it!

The session will be recorded for members to replay afterwards.

Please note, due to COVID-19 this meeting is ONLINE-ONLY.
Society members have been sent Zoom & YouTube links.

A recording IS available for this lecture, to LAS members only, on request.
If you still have the invite e-mail (sent 1st March 2021 @ 17:03), you can also use the YouTube link from that.

With best wishes – Mark
