As well as not supporting modern features and web standards, old versions of browsers - especially Internet Explorer - can expose your computer to security risks. The Browse Happy website has a list of the latest versions of all major browsers, including Internet Explorer (but remember Windows XP only supports up to IE8!)

Our popular Young Astronomers' Club returns this month. The topic for the evening will be Dead Stars? (black holes, neutron stars and white dwarfs) Depending on the weather, hopefully there will also be some practical astronomy outside.
Our guest speaker for November 2024 was to be Mr Gary Palmer - Introduction to Deep Sky Imaging however ill-health means that the planned talk will need to be rescheduled. Dr. Steve Barrett has kindly stepped in, and will be giving two shorter presentations in place of one long one:
Our popular Young Astronomers' Club continues this month. The topic for the evening will be : Rocketry and space exploration (will use KSP software to build and launch rockets) Depending on the weather, hopefully there will also be some practical astronomy outside.
Members of the Liverpool Astronomical Society, (founded in 1881), will display several telescopes for viewing the night sky if clear. There will also be an illustrated talk on astronomy. This event is free, and is open to all members of the public.

Come along to our stargazing evening where we’ll have telescopes in which you can view the night sky if clear. There will also be an illustrated talk about the wonders of the solar system at 7.15pm and repeating it at 8pm (lasting about half an hour). All ages are welcome although the talk is aimed at aged 8 upwards. There will also be telescopes to look through, meteorites, and some themed Lego. Esposito’s cafe will be open late for refreshments. Journey into our universe with members of Liverpool Astronomical Society, to observe our nearest planetary neighbours. There will be space based creative activities, telescopes to observe the Sun and other planets and short talks about the solar system during the course of the day. This event is included in general admission to Norton Priory Museum and Gardens.
