Monthly Meeting – Presidential Address & opening of new session
Friday, 15th September 2023 @ 19:00 – 21:00 BST
The first Monthly Meeting of Liverpool Astronomical Society for the 2023 – 2024 (140th) session will be held on Friday, September 15th from 19:00 to 21:00.
Those of you wishing to become members may do so at this meeting (see below for more information.)
Members of the public are welcome to attend (for free), but please consider joining our Society if you attend more than two monthly meetings.
There will be two short talks for this meeting.
The first talk will be our Presidential Address, by LAS President Mr. Colin Murray, on the topic of astronomical books.
The second short talk will be by Observatory Director Mr. David Galvin, which was originally scheduled to take place during the 2023-2023 AGM, regarding an update on the new Skywatcher EQ8-R mount at Leighton Observatory.
COVID Safety
Please try to continue with social distancing and use caution when possible.
Also, use the hand sanitiser that will be available.
The wearing of masks will be a personal choice and optional for those that wish to continue wearing them.
We will continue to ventilate the room.
Finally, please do not attend if you have any COVID-like symptoms or have tested positive for COVID that day, or in the days leading up to the meeting.
